Last updated: June 25, 2026
1. Overview
Rootenly ("we," "us") provides an AI-assisted home services concierge that helps homeowners describe repair needs, compare typical costs, discover local professionals, and โ when you choose the managed concierge path โ coordinate outreach, quotes, scheduling, and payment holds on your behalf.
By using Rootenly, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Not a contractor
Rootenly is a technology platform and concierge service, not a licensed contractor, home services company, or employer of service professionals listed through Google Places or other data sources. Providers perform work independently. Rootenly does not guarantee quality, availability, licensing, or outcomes of third-party work.
3. Accounts
You must provide a valid email address to use features that require sign-in, including starting managed concierge projects and authorizing payment holds. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. Payments & escrow holds
When you authorize a managed concierge project, Rootenly may place a temporary hold on your payment method through Stripe. Funds are authorized โ not captured โ until work is completed according to our payment lifecycle. A platform fee may apply on captured amounts.
You authorize Rootenly and its payment processors to charge, hold, capture, refund, or release funds in connection with your projects as described at checkout and in our Cancellation & Refunds policy.
5. Direct contact path
If you choose to call a provider directly, Rootenly facilitates discovery only. Any agreement, pricing, scheduling, or dispute is solely between you and that provider.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the platform, submit fraudulent projects, interfere with other users, or attempt to access systems or data without authorization.
7. Disclaimers
Rootenly provides cost estimates and AI guidance for informational purposes. Actual pricing varies by scope, region, and provider. The service is provided "as is" to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rootenly is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform or any provider's work.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
